EQUESTRIAN QUEST PROGRAMS

Individual and Couples Equine Therapy

Equine assisted therapy is a new form of healing that is sweeping the U.S. and Europe because of its effectiveness. What makes the Equestrian Quest approach unique is that it incorporates Jung’s psychology, working with unconscious fears, depression, and projections (both archetypal and personal). Accommodations are available at Guil’s ranch for those who want to come for periods of time from five days to a week. These longer periods incorporate a modified “vision quest,” along with other kinds of work with the horses. This program is also designed for people in northern New Mexico to come to the ranch and participate in weekly sessions.

Jungian Equine Therapy in a Group Setting

Equestrian Quest will also sponsor small group workshops, occasionally co-led by another analyst, or a healer, such as a shaman, whose work complements the Jungian approach and takes the therapy with horses to an imaginal level. At this level dreams, active imagination, and shamanic journeying can bring in new dimensions. The dates will be announced.

Training for Therapists to Learn Jungian Equine Therapy

Once a year during the summer a week-long training program will be offered to licensed psychotherapists, including clinicians from European countries. Continuing Education credits (40)will be offered to therapists.

Horse Camp for Children with Bi-Polar Disorders

A camp for bi-polar children is held in the summer, providing children with the chance to feel totally accepted by the horses. They draw serenity from touching and grooming the horse, then passing on that serenity to chickens, holding them in their laps.
